At Eden Private Hospital our focus is on innovation. We seek opportunities to integrate the latest technology into our programs, so that our patients achieve outcomes far beyond the industry standard.
Eden Private Hospital is proud to enhance our rehabilitation services. We have partnered with a reputable, global provider to deliver innovative, robotic-assisted rehabilitation technology to our patients.
Watch Dr Phoebe Slape explain how we’re helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals faster
The robotic rehabilitation and assistive technologies market is gaining momentum and achieving impressive results across the globe.
At Eden Private Hospital, we focus on innovation and integrating the latest technology into our programs. We were happy to trial robotic-assisted therapy so that our patients can achieve outcomes far beyond the industry standard. Following a successful robotic-assisted therapy trial, Eden Private Hospital has invested in a range of robotic and computer-assisted therapy devices.
Our hospital’s clinical lead and director of rehabilitation, Dr Phoebe Slape, and allied health team worked collaboratively to successfully introduce robotic therapy into our traditional rehabilitation programs, helping patients reach their rehabilitation goals faster – bringing innovative variety and depth to our rehabilitation capability.
At Eden Private Hospital, we are using robotic-assisted therapy to supplement our conventional, pre-existing, multi-disciplinary rehabilitation therapy. The use of both robotic and traditional therapies enables our patients to experience the best possible therapeutic results within the shortest time frame possible.
We have now included robotic assisted rehabilitation into existing in-patient and day therapy programs at Eden Private Hospital.
Myro
MYRO®´s sensor-based surface enables task-oriented rehabilitation with real objects, trains the patient’s cognitive abilities, and improves motor abilities of the upper extremity. Therapeutic games are controlled intuitively by touch, force application or object displacement and rotation.
Amadeo
With AMADEO®, patients train various aspects of the grasping movement and finger extension. Patients who are barely able or unable to grasp can perform hundreds of robot-assisted grasping movements. Active participation of the patient’s affected hand is promoted by biofeedback and assist-as-needed interactions.
Tyrostation
The TYROSTATION is home to all individual components of PABLO® and TYMO® and also provides a perfect ergonomic adaptability for every patient.
Tymo
TYMO® is a versatile tool for measuring and practice of force, balance, and postural control. Data from the Posturography is the basis to plan the therapeutic intervention. Different therapy options to strengthen stability and symmetry for the upper and lower extremities as well as for the trunk can be applied in a playful manner.
Pablo Upper Limb & Lower Limb
PABLO® Gait, our sensor-based gait analysis and training system, precisely measures and tracks parameters that are critical for the proper selection of the most effective gait therapy.
TyroServer is also available.
Please contact our rehab team for more information on how these devices can assist you with your rehabilitation goals.
Robotic-assisted therapy utilises computer-assisted therapy devices, software and applications to provide patients with intensive rehabilitation that engages them physically and cognitively.
Robotic rehabilitation successfully blends principles of rehabilitation with robotics, virtual reality and gamification, engaging patients with the three components of robotic assisted therapy – intensity, dose and motivation.
Whether stroke, spinal cord injury, Parkinsons or Multiple Sclerosis; our sensory robotic rehabilitation devices can be applied with a variety of symptoms to improve and enhance recovery.
Robotic assisted therapy focuses on the following:
Robotic-assisted rehabilitation helps therapists and patients to do the right things at the right time, regardless of location, indication and phase of rehabilitation.
Patients using robotic-assisted therapy have seen improvement in patient functional deficit resulting from stroke, traumatic brain injury, MS, Parkinsons and, musculoskeletal and spinal conditions.
There are numerous benefits to utilising robotic-assisted therapy in your road to rehabilitation:
Hi my name is Charmian. I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2015. I was given 2 years. I believe that my regular attendance as an outpatient at Eden Private Hospital over the last 6 years has been extremely beneficial.
The therapists have worked diligently with me, using their skills, knowledge and resources.
My decline has been slower then predicted. Of late I have been introduced to Tyro (robotic assisted) therapy in 2019. Amadeo has been helping me with keeping my hands flexible, keeping the integrity of the joints which reduces pain and keeps them more functional. I’m very grateful to be able to participate weekly with the help of NDIS. Thank you Eden and Staff.
