Medical Advisory Committee
Our Medical Advisory Committee advises the hospital's CEO and represents the collective views of the accredited practitioners who practice at Eden Private Hospital.
The Medical Advisory Committee:
- Communicates between hospital Executives and health professionals to facilitate the safe provision of patient services and the application of appropriate policies and procedures
- Identifies the health needs of the community and advises on services that may be required to meet those needs
- Ensures optimum delivery of patient care is maintained through current best practice and research
- Provides a means of formal review of clinical outcomes, clinical management and peer review systems
- Ensures all accredited practitioners are qualified, registered and consistent with Healthe Care by-laws.
The Committee meets quarterly. Members and the Chair are elected at the Annual General Meeting.

Dr Phoebe Slape
Director Rehabilitation/MAC Chair; Rehabilitation Physician
Dr Slape has a special interest in falls prevention, geriatric rehabilitation, oncology and palliative rehabilitation, cardiac, pulmonary and neurological rehabilitation.
Dr David Eckerman
Rehabilitation Physician
Dr Eckerman has a particular interest in spasticity/dystonia management, botulinum toxin therapeutic use, stroke rehabilitation and neurodegenerative diseases, as well as movement disorder rehabilitation, musculoskeletal medicine and rehabilitation in chronic pain.
Dr Tracey Lang
Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr Tracey Lang is a consultant psychiatrist with a special interest in female mental health issues and psychotherapy. She is interested in the person as a whole and takes a biosocial approach to treatment and management.
Dr Sheikh Naveed
Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr Sheikh Naveed Consultant Psychiatrist with a special interest in neuro-psychiatry and consultation liaison psychiatry.
